Edwin Avery Obituary
Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday (Aug. 14) at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home Inc., 32 State St., Seneca Falls. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 15) at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Fennessy, pastor at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca Falls, officiating. Interment will follow in Fox Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
The family has asked that contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse 13220-3049, in memory of Edwin.
He was born in the town of Tyre, the son of J. Gilbert and Marion VanNarsdale Avery on Nov. 11, 1938. He graduated from Waterloo Central School, Class of 1957. He married Pauline E. Amidon in June 1959 and they had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Edwin retired from the New York State Department of Transportation, where he was an equipment operator in 1994 after 371/2 years. He was past president of the CSEA. He enjoyed auto racing, playing cards and was an all-around family man.
Surviving, besides his wife, Pauline, are three daughters, Rhonda Lapp of Waterloo, Christine Feathersmith of California and Lisa (Mike) Scalise of Geneva; two sons, Jason of Washington and Scott Avery of California; a brother, Gordon Avery of Marion; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Fred and Milton Avery.

Just know that Ed's family are in our prayers and I pray that they know just how great our God is, he will carry you thru the fire and storm, God is with each and everyone of you. My prayer is for peace for your family. The pain of your loss will be quieted by his love.
