Jeannette Ayers Obituary
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Yates County Humane Society at www.YatesHumane.org or Heart Assoc. at www.Heart.org or Penn Yan Bible Church at www.PennYanBibleChurch.org
Jeannette was born in Winterdale, Pa. She moved to Penn Yan with her husband, Raymond Mead, who worked as a Penn Yan Express truck driver. She later married Arland Ayers who worked on the family farm, delivered milk and sold cars. Jeannette loved her family. She supported herself and them by caring for children, cleaning houses, and working on the farm. She liked to quilt and crochet, play cards and domino's, feed the birds and feral cats, garden and can, cook and bake, meet with friends on her front porch or at McDonald's, and sip coffee while eating peanut butter toast.
In celebration of Jeannette, work hard, hold a child's hand, say a kind word, call a friend, help a neighbor, laugh, feed a stray cat, drink milk, and eat peanut butter. That is how she lived her life.
Jeannette is survived by her daughters Joan (Ron) Rubin, Donna (Rick) McMinn and Robin (Robert) Morse; her son, Rick (Tracey) Ayers, all of Penn Yan; she loved being "Gogain" and "Gonie" to Laura, Greg, Shane, Todd, Leah, Lisa, Lynn, Darren, Stephanie and Kari; and her 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands Raymond Mead in 1964 and Arland Ayers in 1978; four sisters; one brother; and many friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Penn Yan Manor for their loving care.

so Sorry to hear of your loss. Jean and my grandma (viola) were such good friends I remember such great times spending time with Jean at her farm. Then her moving up the street from grandma on young’s street. Jean was such a wonderful person.
