PHILLIP ARMSTRONG
Feb. 17, 1952 - Oct. 16, 2014
Phillip was born the fifth of nine children in Holtville where he resided until he moved to Imperial be closer to his job and other family members.
Phillip was a well known roofer in the Imperial Valley where he owned roofing businesses with his father-in-law. He worked in the roofing industry for over 40 years.
He was active in stock car racing where he raced from the early 80's to '95 when an accident kept him from racing again. However, he never left the track as he supported his sons' racing hobbies.
Phillip leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Nancy, and their children, Amy (Jimmy) Brinnon, Robert (Savannah) Prince, Ivy Armstrong, Chelle Prince, PJ (Jasmine) Armstrong and his cherished eight grandchildren: Lexi, Kaden, Drew, Emma Jean, Brooke, Hadlee, Samara, and Phillip III.
He is also survived by his siblings Bonnie (Willard) Edgmon, David (Donna) Armstrong, Richard (Bobby) Armstrong, Terry (Lori) Armstrong, Debbie (George) Wilson, Pam (Greg) Beal, Pat (Ed) Sundstrom, Andy (Doug) Cox, Bruce (Lizette) Worthington, and many nieces and nephews.
Phillip has gone to be with his parents James and Evelyn Armstrong, Howard and EJ Worthington, and brothers Jimmy Armstrong, Roger Armstrong, Mark Worthington, and best friend Ray Crawford.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 5th at 11 a.m. at the El Centro PAL Building, 1100 N 4th Street, El Centro.

The first time that I remember seeing Phillip come and visit my 14 year old sister, he was standing by front yard, long, wavy red hair, barefoot, and wearing overalls. He was 16 years old, and Nancy thought he was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Their marriage lasted 34 years, thru thick and thin, healthy and illness/injuries (mostly Phillips'!), happy and difficult. Nancy loved him through it all. Phillips' last days were filled with the sounds of love, crying, laughter, and prayers. He is home with God, now. Safe, happy, and healthy. He is missed.
