William Caster Obituary
WATERLOO - William "Bill" Caster, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2026, at Geneva General Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia St., Waterloo. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bill's family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to Happiness House, 5415 Independence Lane, Canandaigua, New York 14424.
Born on April 6, 1944 in Seneca Falls, Bill was the son of the late Harold B. and Charlotte (Krieger) Caster. He dedicated his career to working as a mechanic, retiring from the Waterloo School System in 2011. Bill was known for his strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and willingness to lend a hand, and his joy of life and all the joy he brought to others. Bill loved to camp, fish, hunt, and automotive repair and restoration.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Sandra (VanOrden), whom he married on May 11, 1968; his daughter Carolyn Sosnowski; son Will Caster; grandchildren Alissandra (Carlos) Baez, Nicole Sosnowski, Sarah (Matt) Sosnowski, and Andres Villarreal; great grandchildren, Dominic, Hunter, Jordyn, Maelani; sister Mary (Gary) Miller; sister-in-law Joyce (Caster) Becker; brother-in-law Ken Heald; brothers-in-law Dale (Bobbie) VanOrden, Gary and Paul Van Orden; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn Marie Caster (1972); son-in-law Michael Sosnowski; and brothers Harold, Bob, Jerry, Ray Caster, and sister Linda Heald and brothers-in-law; Walt Payne and Ted Becker.
Bill will be remembered for his dedication to family, his steady presence, and the kindness he showed to all who knew him.

Sandy and family , we r so sorry to hear of Bills passing , I worked with Bill at the Bus Garage , He was always pleasant to talk to and always upbeat. I will miss seeing him sitting out in the front lawn while you were mowing . He will be missed by many

Sandy and family we are so sorry for your loss. Bill was a great guy. Our son Jeff wouldn´t eat the bean soup you made. Bill talked to him told him it was special bean soup talked him into it. Loved to have coffee with you and Bill when we lived on William street. Saying a prayer for Bill today.
