Robert 'Bob' Caster, 89, of Plattsmouth, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He was born on April 30, 1936, to Raymond and Sylvia Caster.
Bob grew up in Minnesota, after moving to Nebraska he worked for nearly 50 years for St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha as Head of Maintence. Bob was united in marriage to Linda (Horstmeyer) Burgess at Meyer Park near the Missouri River in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Bob was the life of the party-his infectious sense of humor and knack for teasing brought smiles to countless faces. He cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his beloved grandkids, who were the light of his life. Whether he was sharing a laugh or weaving stories from his adventurous days, Bob's warmth and charisma made everyone feel like a part of his extended family.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Bob reveled in taking care of his property and embraced each season with enthusiasm, often accompanied by his loyal dog, Gigit, by his side. Bob was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who brought laughter, love, and a sense of adventure to all who knew him.
Bob is survived by wife, Linda Caster, son, Patrick (Susan) Caster of Papillion, daughter, Dionne Mcewen of Washington, step-daughters, RaeLynn Jacobson of Omaha, Susan Burgess of Omaha, step son JR (Erica) Meyer of Omaha, 19 grandkids, and 14 great grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Todd Caster, Raymond Caster; granddaughter, Sarah Schwartz, and siblings, Helen Downs, Audrey Richie, Loraine Mott, Betty Belland, Ted Caster, Jerry Caster, Rodney Caster.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsmouth with Rev. Matt Coplen officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4 - 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at Harvey Funeral Home in Plattsmouth.
