Raymond Segura Obituary

On December 31, 2020, Raymond (Ray) Segura, loving husband, father, grandfather great grandfather, and great great grandfather passed away at the age of 90. Ray was born January 6, 1930 to Simon and Eusebia (Canales) Segura in Belton, TX. Ray worked as a farm laborer in Morgan County for most of his life. Ray married Pomposa Vasquez of Log Lane Village on September 10, 1949 at St. Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan, CO. They raised seven children Lydia (Gonzalez) of Sioux City, IA, Ricardo of Log Lane Village, Suelma (Temple) of Fort Morgan, Elena (Vicente) of Fort Morgan, Amelia (De Leon) of Houston, TX and Rogelio of Fort Morgan. Ray and Pomposa have 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. Ray was a member of Saint Helena Catholic Church. Ray had a passion for family and friends. Ray and Pomposa especially enjoyed dancing and volunteering for the Clavis Club of Morgan County. Ray was a member of the Clavis Club for 56 years. Ray loved telling and retelling stories and had many stories to tell. His favorite tune of all time was "How Much Is That Doggie in The Window." Ray's other greatest joys were attending his grandchildren's sporting events, watching baseball and football, especially the Colorado Rockies and the Colorado Buffalos. Ray also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and taking his family to the Mother Cabrini Shrine every year. Ray was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Maximo, Zenon, Pablo, and sisters, Micaela, Juagina, Maria, and his son Raymond Jr., grandchild, Catherine De Leon, great grandchild Alejandra Gonzalez. Visitation will be Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 2-4:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 4:00 p.m. at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
