MELLANNIE R. BISHOP

MELLANNIE R. BISHOP, 16, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Mellannie was a Junior at Wayne High School where she was a member of the Student Council. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Mellannie was beginning her educational career in childhood development and had the goal of being a social worker. She also enjoyed reading and writing short stories. Surviving are her father, Joshua (Crystal) Paxson of Albion; mother, Stephanie (Ronald) Hartman of Fort Wayne; siblings, Katrina Needler, Brianna Needler, Brandon Needler, Kaylena Watkins, Jenica Watkins, Gevin Paxson, and Nicholas Hartman; grandparents, Debra Paxson, Rose (Ron) Durnell, Michael Bishop, Michael (Lynn) Bolling, Steve Watkins, and Ron (Deb) Hartman. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., with calling one hour prior. Deaconess Phyllis McMichael and Pastor Ted Jansen officiating. Calling also from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in South Pleasant Cemetery, Silver Lake, Ind.
