RICHARD MARTINEZ OCHOA

RICHARD MARTINEZ OCHOA, 76, of Fort Wayne, went to be with his wife on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born Dec. 27, 1945, in Encinal, Texas. Richard retired from F.W.C.S. as a school bus driver and was a bartender at La Margarita restaurant on S. Calhoun St. since the 1970's. Richard always had a smile on his face and made friends wherever he went. He loved traveling and camping with his wife, Brenda. He was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a caring brother, and "THE COOLEST Grandpa". Richard is survived by his daughters, Rachelle (Gene) Hall and Noel Ochoa; sons, Aaron (Carrie) Ochoa and Nathan Ochoa; grandsons, Brandon (Shyenne) Hall and AJ Ochoa; granddaughter Kayla Hall; and sisters, Olga Gonzalez and Berta Cruz. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Ochoa; parents, Pantaleon and Paulita Ochoa; brothers, Henry Ochoa, Panfilo (Blackie) Ochoa, Alberto Ochoa, Pantaleon (Junior) Ochoa, and Jose (Mexican Joe) Ochoa; and sister, Josephine (La Cuata) Barajas; and grandson, Jacob Ochoa. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
