RUTH ANN FLECKENSTEIN BEYER

1931 - 2021

RUTH ANN FLECKENSTEIN BEYER, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, as the result of a vehicle - pedestrian accident while delivering Christmas presents. Born in Fort Wayne on Oct. 19, 1931, she was the daughter of Robert and Edna (Pequignot) Fleckenstein. She grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated from Central High School in 1949. She married after high school and raised seven children while working at several Fort Wayne companies including E.A. Reim Plumbing and Lancia Builders. Ruth was a caring and generous person always putting other's needs ahead of her own. She gave to several charities on a regular basis, expanding her already large family to sponsored orphan children. She was a friend to many of her neighbors and never met a stranger. Her family loved her very much. She is survived by her partner, John M. Gerke of New Haven; children, Richard Christopher (Maria) Beyer of Gilroy, Calif., Renee C. (Paul) Strouts of Alpharetta, Ga., Cynthia A. (Roger) Rose of Decatur, Ind., Amy R. (Michael) Tuttle of New Haven, Ind., Andrew E. (Angela) Beyer, and Connie M. Chapman, both of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Debra (David) Lehman of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Norbert H. (Debra) Beyer; parents; 12 siblings; and former husband, Richard G. Beyer.
