AnnaBelle Wickless Obituary

Mrs. AnnaBelle S. Wickless, 90, formerly of Woodsboro, died Thursday, Nov. 1, at Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick.

She was the wife of C. Carroll Wickless who died Jan. 18, 1998.

Born May 31, 1911, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late George Baxter and Bessie Ogle Smith.

Mrs. Wickless was a past president of the Woodsboro Homemakers Club and served as county treasurer for the Frederick County Council of Homemakers.

She was a charter member and past president of the Glade Valley Democratic Club. She was an inspector for the Maryland State Board of Cosmetologists for 25 years.

Mrs. Wickless was a member of Frederick Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and later, the Ketoctin Chapter in Virginia. She was a past president of the Frederick County American Cancer Society and also a past president of the Frederick Woman's Civic Club.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Woodsboro.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol Ann Browning and husband Reyburn of Purcellville, Va., and Sandra Merchant and husband Dr. Ralph Merchant of Shippensburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, with the Rev. Dorothy Lundgren, pastor of Israel Creek Lutheran Parish, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro.
