David Stouter Obituary

Every so often the Lord takes a young person to Heaven that just makes you wonder if the good folks on the other side needed a soul with a high fun factor to shake things up a bit. That's certainly the case with David V. Stouter, 42, a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, and brother-in-law who died peacefully at home on Saturday, June 18th 2011.

It's hard not to crack a smile when thinking about Dave, even in this time of intense sorrow. He had an amazing sense of humor and a very quick wit. He was very genuine and caring.

Dave was born October 26, 1968. He is the seventh child of Edward and Betty (Dixson) Stouter. Dave grew up in Emmitsburg, MD attending Mother Seton grade school, Emmitsburg Primary and Catoctin High School (Class of 1986). After high school Dave joined the United States Navy. He completed boot camp and schooling in Florida and landed in Hawaii for duty as a Cryptologic Technician. Paradise provided the backdrop for Dave to meet his soul-mate, Kelley in 1988. They returned from Hawaii to Maryland and were married in 1992. Dave was blessed with three beautiful daughters and his spirit (and a whole lot of his faces, mannerisms, character and values) will live on in them: Shannon Brooke (23), Rachael Danielle (18) and Meghan Quinn (17).

Dave was always very active and enjoyed scuba diving, motorcycle riding, bicycle riding through the Mountains, and riding his four-wheelers and scooters. He was also a big history buff. He enjoyed listening to music and just hanging out with friends and family.

Dave was a well respected employee of JP Morgan Chase. Having started on the phones 15 years ago as a collector, his keen abilities for team building and personal drive allowed him to advance to Manager, Team Leader and ultimately Site Lead of the entire call center located in Frederick Maryland. Most recently Dave worked from home for the Delaware Corporate Office.

Dave will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his parents Edward and Betty as well as his siblings and their families: Larry and Barbara Stouter(Micah),Emmitsburg, Sue Pinion (John Stouter and Jennifer Stouter Hudgins) of Sabillasville, Emmitsburg, Spring Grove, PA respectively, Steve and Tammie Stouter (Daniel and Erik) of Frankfurt Germany, Jay and Theresa (Stouter) Bidle (Stephanie), Middletown, Scott and Diane (Stouter) Webber (Stephen and Jason), Mannassas, VA, Mike and Veronique Stouter (Garrett Zimmerman, Sarah and Tori), Emmitsburg, Rob and Becky Stouter (Kaitlin and Chase), Emmitsburg.

He is further survived by Kelley's family: parents William and Mickey, siblings Bill, Robyn and Laurie, their spouses and children as well as numerous relatives and countless friends.

The family will greet visitors from 2-4p.m. and 6-9p.m. on Friday, June 24th at Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont, MD with a Memorial Mass following on Saturday, June 25th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Emmitsburg, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in his memory to The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.

Dave's humerous last words to all who knew him would be "I'M GLAD YOU HAD THE CHANCE TO SEE ME!"
