Florence Burrier Obituary

Mrs. Florence L. Burrier, 91, of Frederick, Md., and formerly of Mount Airy, Md., died Friday, August 31, 2012, at College View Center. She was wife of the late Lorraine Burrier.

Born May 7, 1921 in Barnesville, Md., she was a daughter of the late Harry Randolph and Osie Poole Savage.

She and her late husband operated a dairy farm in the Unionville area of Mount Airy for many years. She was a member of the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, an avid Oriole's fan and great admirer of Luke Scott. She loved traveling, telling jokes, and making friends and family laugh.

She is survived by eight children, Emerson Burrier and wife JoAnn of Libertytown, Allen Burrier and wife Helen of New Market, Daniel Burrier of Kent Island, Barbara Burriss and husband Thomas of Frederick, Connie Catron and husband Charles of Union Bridge, Henry Burrier of Frederick, Kenneth Burrier and wife Robyn of Union Bridge, and Dean Burrier of Ijamsville; one sister, Betrty Reinecker of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Marshall Savage of Waynesboro, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and numerous great- , and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Burrier; six brothers; and three sisters.

The family extends a special thanks to her favorite niece, Janice Jordan.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, at Molesworth-Williams, P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, at Locust Grove Church of the Brethern, 13356 Glissans Mill Road, Mount Airy, Maryland 21771. Entombment will follow in Clustered Spires Cemetery Mausoleum, Linden Hills, Frederick, Maryland 21701

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to a charity of choice.

To the Burrier Family, Deanie, I'm so sorry to hear about Maw ... I will cherish all the special memories out at the farm, or just pickin crabs, she so loved her critters. She is finally resting in peace and her suffering is over. Deanie I love you, you will Always be like a Big brother to me and Maw was like family. She had a Heart of gold. She was a very strong willed woman. Love Woody

Mrs. Burrier was one of the strongest (both physically and emotionally) women I've ever met in my life. I just learned of her passing today...RIP Kit.
