James Hamilton Obituary

Mr. James Alexander Hamilton Jr., 77, of Clarksburg, a lifetime Montgomery County resident, died Monday, Nov. 26, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville.

He was the husband of Hazel M. Hamilton, his wife of 54 years.

Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Silver Spring, he was a son of the late James A. Sr. and Helen Lechlider Hamilton.

He had worked in the plastering business for Dodd Brothers.

He served in the U.S. Navy on-board the USS Underhill during World War II. He received a Purple Heart.

He attended Greenridge Baptist Church in Clarksburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, James Randall Hamilton of Mount Airy, and Linda Faye Anderson of Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Lee Randall Anderson of Damascus, Catherine Victoria Anderson and Amanda Rae Anderson, both of Clarksburg, Lauren Elizabeth Hamilton and Kevin Alexander Hamilton, both of Mount Airy; one great-grandson, Jordan Lee Anderson of Damascus; and two sisters, Margaret Roberts and Helene Dieffenbach, both of Frederick.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at Greenridge Baptist Church, 21925 Frederick Road, Clarksburg.

Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.
