Joyce Bode Obituary

Joyce Wanda Brown Bode of Middletown, MD died at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD on June 18, 2013. She was the wife of the late George Fred Bode who departed this earth on September 5, 2012.

She was a woman of profound strength where her lifelong example would always serve to inspire others. Additionally, she was an elegant, kind, fair, and spiritual woman.

In earlier years, she would design projects that would include sewing, crocheted items, and a diverse collection of crafts. Her creativity was limitless, and her spirituality resolute. She attended Myersville Baptist Church. In the end, she was a strong woman who would also be dedicated to her family and others.

Finally, she is survived by two daughters: Yvonne Marie Bode Childress and husband Franklin; and Susan Rudesill and husband Tom of Middletown; three grandsons: Dustin Higgins of Boonsboro, Alexander Childress and Christopher Rudesill of Middletown; one granddaughter: Kara Rudesill of Frederick; fives nieces and nephews in Illinois; and two great-grandsons: Tyler and Bryant Higgins of Boonsboro.

In addition to her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her premature, fraternal twin boys, and one son, Fred Wesley, age
4 1/2.

To celebrate her life, services will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Friday, June 21, 2013, at 11 a.m., 2212 Jefferson Pike, Knoxville, MD 21758.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to support research for leukemia and its cure, or Hospice of Frederick, MD.
