Kathryn M. "Kathie" Tucker

Kathryn M. Tucker, 60, passed on to her eternal home Friday, March 15, 2024, due to complications of ALS, with family by her side. She was born in Frederick on September 21, 1963 to Jay and Virginia (Palmer) Fifer. She married her high school sweetheart Michael T. Tucker. They would have celebrated their 40th anniversary in May.

Kathie graduated from Middletown High School and earned an Associate's degree from FCC. She worked in bank operations, the school system, healthcare and two church offices.

Kathie attended and was active in several churches throughout her lifetime. She especially enjoyed Bible study in recent years.

Kathie cherished time spent with family, especially being Nannie to her grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to the beach, the mountains, Lancaster County, PA and road trips across the US. She also enjoyed activities and hobbies including walking, gardening, reading, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, bike rides on the C & O canal, trips to Hersheypark, bowling, roller and ice skating, square dancing and family game nights.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband are son, Phillip, Sr. (Jaimie), grandchildren, Phillip, Jr., Emma and Grayson, sister Jayme Cline (Ray) and nephew, Matt. She was predeceased by her parents and infant daughter Hannah.

We are grateful to the care teams at UMMC-Midtown, Complete Care, Meritus Hospital, Hospice of Washington County and Doey's House, along with her family caregivers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 25 at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821-A Green Valley Road, Monrovia.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.
