Gregory P. Parker
Gregory Paul Parker, 54, of Fredericksburg died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 29, 1956, in Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his father, John Daniel Parker II, and is survived by his mother, Jeanette Marie Parker of Winchester.
Greg was a devoted husband and father. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years.
Mr. Parker is also survived by his wife, Nancy Catherine Parker of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Meghan Elaine Parker and Amanda Kelly Parker-Finch and husband Rick, also of Fredericksburg; two sons, John David Logan of Centreville and David John Logan of Falls Church; one brother, John David Parker III of Newborn, N.C.; four grandchildren and another grandaughter due in June. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jean Parker.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, with interment in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Ben Houchens will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
