Ellen L. Boever, 70, of Omaha, formerly of Tekamah, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Hospice House in Omaha after a short battle with cancer.
Ellen L. Gaver was born June 24, 1942, in Lyons to Ernest and Frieda (Moeller) Gaver. She attended District 29 School near Tekamah and Bucktown School near Craig. She attended Tekamah High School for two years and then Herman High School in Herman.
She married Glenn Conklin on Nov. 21, 1961, and they had three children, Laure, Ernest and Todd. On Dec. 18, 1975, she married Jerome "Tom" Boever and they had Tammy. For many years, she was a stay-at-home mom, then returned to the workforce as a certified nurse assistant. Following her retirement, she lived in Craig until moving to Omaha with Tammy.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Tekamah and attended Country Bible Church in Blair for many years.
Survivors include: daughters, Laure Eccleston of South Carolina and Tammy (Stan) Klein of Omaha; son, Todd Conklin of Winslow; sisters, Helen Hohenstein of Lyons and Lorena Haswell of Oxford, Iowa; brother, Dale (Vicki) Gaver of Blair; stepdaughters, Sharon Beaty of Buchanan, Ga., Elaine (Richard) Will of Milbank, S.D., and Evadine (Harold) Uhing of Papillion; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, a son, two sisters and a brother.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Country Bible Church, 13121 County Road 16, Blair, with the Rev. Glen Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Tekamah Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Nebraska Humane Society or Country Bible Church.
