DAVID KENNETH SWANBOM

David was born on August 6, 1949, in Fresno Ca., the only child of Geraldine and Kenneth Swanbom. He attended Fresno schools, graduating class of 1967 from McLane High School and finishing a BS degree in Engineering at Fresno State in 1972. He worked as an engineer for PG&E for 33 years in the Stockton, Bakersfield, Selma, and Fresno offices retiring in 2005. He was known as a faithful, dependable son, husband, and father, loved by friends and family. He loved his Savior, family, and music. He played trombone in the marching band in high school and sang in several choirs. One of his favorite leisure activities was singing Christian hymns with his family. He also enjoyed travel, friends, and baseball. He faced his latest illness with faith and trust until Jesus called him home on Monday, January 11, 2010. He lives today with Jesus, who was his highest hope. He will be greatly missed. David was preceded by his mother and father. He is survived by Joan (Vahlstrom) Swanbom of Clovis, his wife of 36 years; son, Joel Swanbom and his wife Katie of Clovis; son, Michael Swanbom and his wife Gwen of Ruston La.; daughter, Lynn Swanbom of Spokane, Wa., nine grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Memorial Celebration of David's life will be held at Campus Bible Church, 4710 N.
