Douglas Davidian Obituary

Douglas Bruce Davidian
September 6, 1952 - April 11, 2021
Fresno, California - Douglas Bruce Davidian entered into his eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was born on Sept. 6, 1952, in Los Angeles, CA to Horsrof "Horace" and Dolores Davidian. Doug's high energy as a child evolved into his lawn cutting business at age 8. For 50 cents, using a push mower, the neighborhood lawns were beautifully maintained. Nothing stopped Doug from delivering the Fresno Bee on his Schwinn bicycle. Sweat pouring from their foreheads, Monte Doris and Doug, shovels in hand, took on a job to dig a regulation size swimming pool. While attending Hamilton Junior High and Fresno High School, Doug excelled in academics and athletics. Doug's exploring spirit prompted him to fulfill his dream of travel. With his parents blessings, Doug embarked on a three month trip throughout the U.S. Fearless and jubilant, Doug got behind the wheel of his Dad's dark green Ford van, loaded to the max with food by Mom, and departed in a whirlwind of waves, tears and good-bys. After returning from his adventure, Doug graduated from California State University, Fresno, in 1974. He taught at Coarsegold Union Elementary. Visions of entrepreneurship evolved into the many successful businesses Doug built: California Business Furnishings, Desk Chairs & More and Contract Interiors. Doug was a connector, problem solver, and visionary honored by Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies. Doug's unselfish interest in others was personified through his commitment to his community. He spent immeasurable time serving organizations devoted to helping young people and entrepreneurs. Doug was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Corp., board member of Read Fresno, Kepler School, Clovis Unified School District, One by One Leadership, Fresno Business Council, and Community Medical Centers. Comforted in the assurance their son is in the eternal care of Jesus, his Savior, are parents, Horsrof and Dolores Davidian; sister, Breena and her husband, Terry McKenna. Reflecting on cherished memories are Doug's sons, Nathaniel and Gabriel Davidian; daughter, Tiffany Dow, grandchildren, Olivia Brown, Sam, Jack, Benjamin Dow. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 am. at The Well Community Church, 4545 N. Palm, Fresno. Masks are required.

The last time I saw Doug his daughter had just "found" him. He was so happy. He told me his life was somehow now complete. Rest in Peace. You will be greatly missed.

Dear God....you have chosen to bring my brother home sooner than I had hoped! Doug...I know you struggled so extremely hard at the end of your journey and you still mustered up strength to send me the special notes of love. Wishing we had longer time on earth together as we left so much undone! You worked so very hard all your life and now you live in a palace! I'm happy that your not suffering anymore, but still I'm so very sad that your gone....you will be terribly missed! I'm still in shock that this happened so extremely fast, and it breaks my heart to see dad so heavy in grief and so very sad that you are gone from this earth! Good bye for now until we are together again....love you sis xox

Doug was a great friend to all. Those of us he met at Hamilton Junior High and Fresno High School will never forget his smile and ability to make sure everyone was included and felt welcome. He left us too soon - I'm still waiting at the front door for that dinner you promised. Rest in peace my friend - until we meet again.
