Fresno, California - Jo Anne Cook Green, originally of Parlier, CA transitioned peacefully on April 30, 2022. "Jodie", as she was affectionately known, was the beloved wife and best friend of her true love of 54 years, the late Bill R. Green. She was the loving mother of William Green and the late Cathleen Hawk, and the doting grandmother of Regan Sandhu (nee Hawk), Trevor Hawk, and Tyler Hawk. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Magill. At a young age, Jodie was an accomplished horse riding champion with the California Rangerettes, competing in shows across the state. She was also a very good musician, playing piano and marimba. After marriage, Jodie was a substitute teacher, primarily in grade school and was the bookkeeper for the family's farm. She and her husband also loved playing golf, particularly in their favorite vacation spot, Gold Beach, OR where they enjoyed numerous summers. She was an avid supporter of many local sports teams including Fresno State as well as Fowler HS Redcats baseball. Jodie loved seeing friends as a member of the Fowler Improvement Association and Fowler Mother's Club and singing in the choir at the Presbyterian church in Fowler. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at the Fowler Cemetery at 10:30 am Monday, May 9, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the FHS Baseball, 108 N. 6th St., Fowler, CA 93625. Please make checks payable to the Redcat Foundation and on the MEMO line put FHS Baseball- Jodie Green.
