PATSY BUNCH RICKS

Patsy Bunch Ricks passed away peacefully, of natural causes, on the morning of March 20, 2015. Patsy was 82. Patsy Bunch was born on August 7, 1932, in Okmulgee, OK. She was the first child of Mildred Myrtle Bunch, nee Smith and Acie Lyle Bunch. The family migrated to California and eventually settled in Dos Palos, CA, where Patsy would be proud to tell that she lived in a chicken coop on the Clyde Houk Ranch. Her siblings, Effie Bunch of Mariposa, CA, Jerry Bunch of Dos Palos, CA, and Janet Avila of Dos Palos, CA, survive her. Patsy graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1950, where her effervescent personality earned her the nickname "Bubbles" and she was named as part of the senior class "Tasty Twosome." Patsy married Howard Lee Ricks on May 27, 1951. Patsy worked for Bank of America for 30 years, and was happy to retire before the advent of computers. Patsy and Howard have resided in the peace and beauty of Mariposa, CA, since 1995. She loved the mountain lifestyle but maintained her connection with Dos Palos and organized the annual Dos Palos High School reunion for 20 years. Patsy will be remembered for her smile, her laugh, and her inability to ever meet a stranger. She is survived by her husband Howard; along with their two children, Tari Lynn Batey of Dos Palos, CA, and Shaun Lyle Ricks of Visalia, CA; and their spouses, Cecil Batey and Cory Ricks. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, Paul Gattis of San Diego, CA, Tiger Ricks of Visalia, CA, and Makena Ricks of Visalia, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dos Palos home of Jerry Bunch on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.
