Sharon Ricks, age 52, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on February 19, 2026. She was born on May 20, 1973, in Newark, New Jersey, to Eddie and Catherine Crawford. Affectionately known as Shan or Liz.

A graduate of Weequahic High School, band member and received higher education at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Over the years, built a career at Verizon, ATT and earned a cosmetology license, reflecting strong work ethics and creative spirit. Accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Often attended Milestone Church, McKinney and Potters House, Dallas.

On September 24, 2010, Sharon married the love of her life, Thomas Ricks, in Newark, New Jersey. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family.

Sharon was a passionate photog, scrapbooker, loved watching movies, traveling, and planning wonderful vacations. She treasured spending time with her family and friends and created lasting memories with those she loved. Her warm personality, thoughtful nature, and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Ricks of McKinney, Texas; her step-sons, Xavier Hamilton of Okinawa, Japan, and Jahmas Hamilton of Bethesda, Maryland; her Aunts Ruth Brooker and (Johnny), Ruby Odom and (William "deceased"), siblings, Patricia Crawford, Harry Thomas and (Yolanda), and Morris Williams, Latricia Crawford and (Darryl "deceased"); very special nephew Kharyi Smith, god sister Dr. Kejo Archer, god children Kerizma, Jacob, Shilo and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, special cousins, family members and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Catherine Harris-Crawford; a host of Aunts, Uncles and her siblings, Ronnie Crawford, Howard Crawford, Edward Crawford, Jr., Rose Harris, Darryl Crawford, Michael Crawford, David Crawford.

Sharon's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
