PAUL BERNELL Obituary

Paul Ronald Bernell was born on December 7, 1936, in Blanchard, OK, and passed away on March 17, 2016, at the age of 79. He was a California licensed general building contractor since 1961. Paul was a veteran of the 101st Airborn and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Selma Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He also was a member of the Fresno Scottish Rite, Fresno Tehran Shrine, The Shrine Mounted Patrol and was a past Worthy Patron of the Selma Eastern Star. In the 1960's, he served as a Deputy Constable of Fresno County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Bettencourt; father Irvin Bernell; and brother Donald. Paul loved all of his family and was greatly loved in return. He is survived by Lona,his wife of 57 years; children, Paulette Bernell, Rhona Upton and her husband Tom, and Kevin Bernell; his grandchildren, Krystal Watkins and her fiance, Jason Dhillon, Brook Gonzales and her husband Richard, Kelli Hanning and her husband Taylor, Holly Lorenz and her husband Kelly, Ryan Upton and Kelsey Robinson; great-grandchildren, Richie Gonzales, Gia Gonzales, Brayden Lorenz and Lane Hanning; sisters, Sally and Becky Young. Visitation will be held at Farewell Page Funeral Chapel in Selma, CA on Thursday, March 24, 2016, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Farewell Page Funeral Service on Friday, March 25, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.
