Richard Neuman Obituary

Rick Neuman, the son of Richard and Helen Neu-man, and the brother of three older adoring sisters, was born in Beatrice, Nebraska. He then spent many years in his beloved Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where he attended high school, college and worked at a hobby shop, before joining his parents in Fresno ten years ago. Rick was an avid reader, a computer buff, a collector of rare books and old vinyl records. He built model aircraft and his real love was playing his electric guitar. While in Fresno, he attended California State University, Fresno with an interest in history, especially WWII. Rick was a gentle and fragile soul who struggled most of his life with depression. On Saturday, April 12, 2008, just three days after his 48th birthday, his daily pain and chal-lenges with ongoing mental health issues overcame him and he chose to leave us. Everyday had been a struggle for Rick and all of us who loved him were in awe of his courage and resilence in meeting many challenges. Even with his disabilities and frustrations in life, his compassion, spirit, and innocence, along with the love of his family, were never lost. We take peace in knowing that Rick's pain and suffering are over and he now resides in the arms of angels and family members. You may be gone from us Rick, but you will always live in our hearts. There will always be a void in our lives witthout you, and a day will not go by without thoughts of you. We all loved you so very, very, much. Rick was preceded in death by his mother Helen; his cousins, Michael Myers, Tim Ullman and Jeanine Keefover; his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his father, Richard Neuman of Fresno; his sister, Cathie Caton Norsworthy and her husband Stan Norsworthy, also of Fresno; his sisters, Christine Caton of Van-couver, Wa. and Barbara Neuman of Lincoln, Ne.; and his nephew, Marcus Caton of Portland, Or.; along with many cousins, aunts, uncles and his furry black dog Reno. There will be no services for Rick, but later in the year the family will spread his ashes in Nebraka and Idaho. Donations in Rick's name may be made to: Friends of the Public Library, P.O. Box 4523, Fresno, Ca. 93744-4523, and the Central Valley SPCA, Canine Unit, 103 S. Hughes Ave., Fresno, Ca. 93706. TINKLER FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORY 475 North Broadway Street Fresno, Ca. Dear Uncle Dick and family

We are so sorry for your loss. I remember playing with Rick and Jeff Ullman down in Beatrice when we were young and all the fun we had. Even though time and distance came between us the love we always have for family will never be forgotten. May you find peace knowing that Angels now watch over Rick.

All of our Love

I am so sorry for your loss. While I hadn't seen Rick in many years, I have fond memories of visiting when we were children and playing together. My thoughts are with you and your family.
