Clovis, California - Ronald Dean Webb, Sr. passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on August 4, 2021. Ron was born in Ventura, CA and graduated from Cal Poly, SLO. Ron developed his love for photography while teaching in the Marshall Islands. Following two years teaching science in Hawthorne, NV, Ron taught photography at Clovis High School from August 1980 until his retirement in 2013. He continued to photograph for Clovis Unified School District until earlier this year when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Ron was a born teacher and his greatest love was sharing his passion for photography with his students, CUSD, the community, and anyone he met. Everyone was a friend and he always had a camera in his hand and a smile on his face. Ron will be remembered as a man whose faith in God directly impacted how he chose to live his life. He loved his family, students, colleagues, and community. He touched lives wherever he went and his influence will long be felt by those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held on August 21, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the Clovis High School Amphitheater, 1055 Fowler Avenue, Clovis, CA. Cougar spirit wear or Clovis High colors are encouraged, "One a Cougar, Always a Cougar." A visual arts scholarship has been established in Ron's name. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Clovis High Cougar Foundation, 1055 Fowler Avenue, Clovis, 93611, with a memo noting the Ronald Webb Memorial Scholarship.
