Shawn, I know that your dad and everyone who met you loved you. It's amazing how small Fresno really is. I have met so many people who knew you. You are going to be missed terribly. It's Been A Week Since Your Funeral And I Still Can't Accept The Fact That You're Gone. April 3, 2008 Was The Hardest Day Of My Life I've Never Felt That Much Pain... When Ever I Was Near You There Was No Pain You Made It All Disappear. Even On The Worst Days Your Smile Would Put One On My Face. You Were So Sweet, Caring, And One Of A Kind!!! You Were There For Anybody And Everybody And I Want To Be Just Like You... I Want To Live Your Legacy And Touch People Like You've Touched Me. Shawn was an awesome guy and anyone he ever came in contact with him would say the same. he just had this thing about him that no matter how hard you would try you couldnt help but smile when you saw him. i have gotten really close to Shawn in the past two years that i have known him. its crazy to think that he is gone, but Shawn will always always be in my heart. thank you Potter family for letting me have the chance to know your amazing son for as long as i did. and know that you guys are always in my prayers. SHAWN WE LOVE YOU!!!

I do not remember a time that Shawn was not smiling. I assume that is one of the things I will miss most. Although I hadn't been around him much since our first year in Mock Trial, he would still make it a point to stop, say "Hello," and give me a hug every time we crossed paths. It always gave me a big smile to see him weasel his way in front of me to make sure I saw him. He'd wrap his arms around me and tell me he missed me. It pains me that I will never get that again, but is comforting to know I will always remember those moments. I cannot imagine the pain you and your family are in but I hope you can find some serenity in knowing the boy you brought up has touched hundreds of lives. Thank you.

Thank you to our wonderful and amazing friends that have spent countless hours with us. The Central Community where my children have been born and grown for all of there support and help. To our Cornelia Baptist Church for taking care of our friends and family. This past week has been a nightmare but with your never ending love and support Shawn knows that we will make it to tomorrow. Robin James And the family i was so surpraised to hear of the misfortune that was dropped apond you all. Shawnie was such a light to be around and even with the passing of time he will be missed.Knowing him as he grew was a better thing for all of us that loved him.He will be missed but never forgotten and in his passing I know he would want us all to be strong

To the potter family. I am so sorry for your loss of your brother and your son. Shawn was such a great guy. We are all going to miss him greatly. He was just so sweet. and always smiling though I know you all know that. I am going to miss Shawn but I know it is not good bye it's see you later. To My Brother Shawn,
I will miss you terribly. I never thought that we would all be in this position. I always thought that you'd be the one putting flowers on my grave not me on yours. Believe it or not I always thought that you'd be the one brother that would always be there for me. I still member the times we used to play outside and the times we used to fight but in the end no matter how mad we got at each other we always got over it. I remeber the last time I talked to you it was a week and a half ago and you were on your way to Vegas I texted you because I wanted to see you guys I had a gut feeling that I should have and I never got to. I really regret not being here in Fresno and seeing you everyday like a sister should be doing. Our memories will live on forever and I'll always be thinking about you.

Dear Shawn,
I remember the times when we were close. You used to attend Cornelia Ave church when you were in junior high. I remember sharing laughs, throwing water balloons, and talking about our faith in God. I also remember the day you accepted Jesus into your heart at Centrifuge Camp the summer of '05. You rang the bell at the last day as a symbol of your new life with Jesus. I thank God so much for putting you in my life and also the youth group. I miss you and I look forward to seeing you in Heaven one of these days.

I haven't really gotten to know Shawn for that long but I've known him long enough to know that he was a very active and nice young man. Having him in Biology always made class fun. I will never forget his smile. Shawn to his biology class was known as Potter and always did his best in everything he did and was a class favorite.
