Gaffney, SC - - Franklin "Bill" Randolph Childers, also known as "Slick", 93, formerly of 111 Hillside Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Cherokee Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Joyce Harrill Childers and the son of the late Harry Powell Childers and Mae Lambert Childers. He was a United States Army Veteran, a graduate of Gaffney High School, Clemson University and was a retired Operations Manager for Milliken, after 35 years of service. He was an avid Clemson Tiger fan, enjoyed golfing and enjoyed the fellowship with the Men's Breakfast Club. Mr. Childers was a member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are three sons, Scott Childers (Anita) of Simpsonville, Tim Childers (Donna) of Gaffney and Hal Childers (Michelle) of Katy, TX; a daughter, Lisa Lancaster (Reverend Rich) of Gaffney; thirteen grandchildren, Lauren Clayton (Barrett), Adam Childers, Matt Childers (Holly), Kaylin Harris ( Josh), Bradley Childers, Joshua Childers (Izzy), Rachel Childers, Grace Childers, Noah Childers, Katie Burns (Kyle), Luke Lancaster (Maggie), Hannah Norris (Brady) and Emmie Sue Lancaster; twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Childers was preceded in death by two sisters, Desiree Lightle and Sandra Meares; and a great-grandson, Griffin Lancaster.
The family will receive friends from 9:30AM until 10:45AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at First Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00AM at the church with Reverend Kevin Hampton, Reverend Rich Lancaster, Dr. Barry Jenkins and Dr. Tommy Huddleston officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens with military honors.

The family will be at the home of Reverend Rich and Lisa Lancaster, 2040 Twin Bridge Road.
