Landrum, S.C. - Jackie "Jack" Lynn Ruppe, 62, of 211 Morrow Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Walmer Ruppe and Elvada Queen Ruppe. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and Limestone College and was employed as a project manager for Interroll. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the S.C. National Guard and attended Southside Baptist Church in Gaffney. The two most influential men in Jack's life were Boyd Meetz the former director of the Cherokee County Boys & Girls Club and Coach Bob Prevatte former football coach for Gaffney High School.
Surviving are two sons, Philip Ruppe (Dana) of Duncan, S.C. and Jason Ruppe (Tracy) of Spartanburg; his fiance, Robin Vollmer of Landrum; two brothers, Relson Ruppe (Christine) of Mayo and Jerry Ruppe (Kim) of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Zachary Ruppe, Kristin Ruppe, Valerie McCall and Jackson Ruppe; a great-grandchild, Kinsleigh George. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lyman Ruppe and Thurmond Ruppe.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Blakely Funeral Home. Memorial services will immediately follow at 6 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wofford Caughman and Rev. Dane Waggoner officiating.
