Jackie Crocker Obituary
Gaffney, SC - Algie Jackie Lamar Crocker, 74, of 146 Millwood Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Judy Brown Crocker and son of the late Clayton Crocker and Chauncey Sparks Crocker. He retired from Limestone College, was a mechanic, a member of Providence Baptist Church, and attended Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship. He also played in the Living Water Gospel Band. He loved his family, working on old cars, was a great carpenter and loved building things, and was very mechanical. His passion was Gospel music and he loved singing and listening to it.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Summer Hughey of Gaffney; two sons, David "Algie" Crocker of Florida and Joel Smith (April) of Blacksburg; three stepsons, Johnny Dover (Betty) of Rutherfordton, NC, James Dover (Jackie) and Charles Dover, all of York; a son-in-law, John Acrey of Gaffney; a brother, Richard Wisher of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Dianne Harrison of Shelby, NC and Celisa Short of Grover, NC; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Mullinax (Jessie) of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Amber Green, Heather Green, Jilea Acrey, Angelica Smith, Joshua Smith, Jayden Blanton, Juliana Turcios and Melody Hughey; three great-grandchildren, Bella Green, Jacob Greenway and his special superstar great-granddaughter, Elaina Keener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Smith, three brothers, Caleb Crocker, Terry Crocker and Lawrence "DD" Crocker, and three sisters, Marilyn, Thelma and Skeeter.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gregg Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family will be at the residence, 146 Millwood Lane, Gaffney, SC 29340.
