Gaffney, S.C. - James "Fatboy" "Crow" Roland Parris, 68, of 108 Moss Street, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Graham Parris Sr. and Belma Coyle Parris. He was a member of North East Fellowship Church of God.
Surviving are two sisters, Kathy Payne and husband, Ray, of Gaffney, and Louise Mitchell, of Hickory Grove; four nieces, Wanda Peeler, of Gaffney, Tammy Dawkins, of Gaffney, Kim Ronk and husband, Mike, of Hickory Grove, and Renee Ronk, of Hickory Grove; five nephews, Jonathan Payne and wife, Frankie, of Gaffney, Wayne Peeler and wife, Lisa, of Gaffney, Scott Mitchell and wife, Billie Anne, of Sharon, Lee Peeler, of Gaffney, and Cliff Payne and wife, Kimberly, of Florida; four great nieces of the home, Kaitlyn Payne, Brianna Dawkins, Hannah Dawkins, and Myah Payne; and thirteen other great nieces and nephews, Ronald Harrill, Leslie, Jacob, Samantha, Jessie, Ashley, Douglas Lee, Melanie, Brittany, Michael, Anna, Matt, and Mark.
Mr. Parris was preceded in death by a brother, Graham "Bud" Parris Jr.; a sister, Brenda Hughey; and a brother-in-law, Earl Mitchell.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 1 to 2 p.m. at North East Fellowship Church of God. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Reverend James Garner officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
