Sammy Willard Obituary
Sammy Willard, age 82, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, December 19, 2021, at his home.
He was the son of the late Sam and Juanita Willard and a native of Cherokee County South Carolina. Sammy retired fromtheUSAirForce after 21 years of service as a senior master sergeant. He enjoyed working as the Veterans Officer in Gaffney for many years. Sammy was preceded in death by a sister; Martha W. Jordan.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years of marriage, Jane Cole Willard; one daughter, Joanna Willard of Spindale, NC; one son, David Willard and wife Melissa of Easley, SC; three sisters, Nancy Bishop of Landrum, SC, Patsy Wix of Gaffney, SC, Myrtis Paris of Gaffney, SC; and two granddaughters, Morgan and Maggie Willard.
The graveside service will be Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Piedmont Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Pate and John Ward officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
