Gaffney, SC - Wayne Howard Ruppe, 80, of 159 Teague Road, went home to be with Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Gaffney, he was the loving husband of Carol Fowler Ruppe for 58 years and the son of the late James "Bud" Ruppe and Faye Norman Ruppe. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School and retired from Lavender Construction after 40 years of service as a carpenter. Mr. Ruppe was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a Lifetime Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and dirt track racing and was an original member of the V8 Race Team.
In addition to his wife, also surviving is a daughter, Kimberly Ruppe Keller (Scott) of Gaffney; a son, David Wayne Ruppe (Julie) of Gaffney; five grandchildren, known to him as "The Fabulous 5", Daniel Ruppe, Matthew Ruppe, Caroline Keller Baker (Wil), John Keller and Kate Ruppe.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00PM at the church with Reverend Joey Shetley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Calvary Baptist Church, 2929 Cherokee Avenue, Gaffney, SC, 29340 or Shriners Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC, 29605.
The family will be at the residence.
