Archie was a wonderful person with the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. I know he will be greatly missed here on this earth but he is in heaven now with my Uncle Jake and Aunt Pearl and I am sure my grandmother (Aunt Mildred) is right there with him.

Archie was unique in his abilities to ease the saddest of circumstances. When Archie and his crew arrived to care for a bereaved family, everyone knew he would do everything possible to help including taking apart hospital beds and storing them on the porch so the family could begin to put the house back in order. His presence was personal at all times. I will miss the Tanner Handshake. May the reassurance and grace he brought to others be with his loved ones now.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Archie.

Archie was one of the most compasionate people I have known.

I have known Archie for so many years and he was like family. He was loved by my entire family.

I could always count on him to make me laugh. His smile would light up any room. His sense of humor left a permanant mark in my memory. So, when I need an uplifting I will remember Archie sayings and it will surely put a smile on my face.

May God bless the Tanner family.

We were fortunate to know Archie in many ways - as a fellow Mason and Shriner, as a professional while picking up our patients who had passed, and as our loving and caring funeral director who took such good care of us in our darkest hours - and always as a friend with a huge smile who first checked your pulse!!

I had the pleasure of working with Archie through my job as the Chief Deputy Registrar at the Alachua County Health Department. What a wonderful human being he was. He always made me laugh! I can still see his great smile. He will be missed by many.

Tribute: Archie Tanner was my friend. We shared much time together when I was in Starke. We performed many funeral services together. He was always kind, generous and professional. When my wife died in November 2000, it was Archie I called to conduct her funeral. There will only be one Archie. His legacy is his family whom he loved greatly and those many families he helped in their darkest hours. Archie loved Jesus. More importantly, Jesus loved Archie. Now, Archie has entered into the very presence of God and is living with perfect eternal health where he will no longer have to take his friends pulse. May God comfort and keep all of Archie's family and friends during this time of sadness. Blessings on all of you.

Archie has left behind a legacy; a friend to many, a gentle giant of a man that never failed to have a kind word over the years. He was a friend to law enforcement and I thank him for the many years that he always remembered troopers during the Christmas season. You will be missed Archie.

Anyone and everyone that knew Archie became instant friends with him. He kept a smile on his dear face and often reminded you why you should be thankful for what you had. Heaven got a good one this time and i am sure he is already hard at work helping arrange things there. :)
