BENEDICT ROBERT, 71
Benedict Robert Vasquez, 71, of Gainesville, FL, died peacefully on April 17,2017 with family at his side. Born March 22,1946 in Hartford CT to John George Vasquez & Lillia Schultz Vasquez, Ben grew up in Rocky Hill CT, graduated from RHHS and attended Castleton State College in VT. A master welder by trade, he worked in Woodford, VT, Wethersfield and Rocky Hill, CT before moving to Gainesville, FL to work with his younger brother, Joe at Skyfrog Tree Service.
Ben is survived by his mother; brothers, Lewis Vasquez of Rocky Hill, CT and Joseph Vasquez of Gainesville, FL; his sister, Connie Sullivan of Portland, CT; his daughter, Elizabeth Davison of Sandwich, MA; and four grandchildren, Lyndsay, Robert, Noah and Tanner Davison; stepchildren, Jackie, Judy and Joseph Caruso. He also leaves his best friend, Billy Puro of Rocky Hill.
He was predeceased by Johnny Caruso.
Ben was a kind and loving person with a wonderful sense of humor, who, whenever possible, would help anyone in need. He loved to play horseshoes and impersonate Elvis, winning awards in both.
Ben will be buried in Woodford, VT alongside his father and brother, Jack.

Ben, 3 years have now passed and we all still miss you very much. I miss our chats about boxing. I still have the Willy Pepp book you gave me. I can still see your smile and look forward to seeing it again when we meet in Heaven.

It's been almost two years since you went home. I'm still missing you and our talks. I think about you almost daily and it helps me smile. I know you're happy now and I will see you again. So until then I'll hold on to the memories of our friendship. I'm so glad I got to meet you brother.
