McIntosh - Benjamin "Ben" Grant McCollum, 37, was killed Monday night, June 9, 2014 in a one-vehicle accident in Orange Lake, FL.

Talented, outgoing, helpful to those in need and a good friend, Ben was a life-long resident of McIntosh, Fla., where his business, Mac's Garage, is located. Ben was a member of the Micanopy Masonic Lodge No. 29, and he was a businessman, musician, outdoorsman, expert flint knapper and airboat enthusiast. He loved the McIntosh community and especially treasured the beauty of Orange Lake and its people, wildlife and history.

Ben is survived by many who miss him deeply: three daughters, Analyse Gabriel McCollum (15), Olivia Rose McCollum (7) and Kerry Mae McCollum (2); his parents, Cary Grant and Linda Gail Cannon McCollum; sisters, Bobbie Robinson and her husband, Randy, Lindy McCollum-Brounley and her husband Bob, Mary Katherine Deaderick and her husband Lee, and brother, Cary Silas McCollum; nephew-like-a-brother, Jason Emerald Robinson and his wife, Sandi; friend Erin Veranizan; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

A Masonic funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the McIntosh Cemetery, eulogy given by Pastor Tom Lane, followed at 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life potluck luncheon at the Grand Lake Resort in Citra, FL.

Ben's family welcomes the attendance of all who cared for Ben, and sharing memories of him in celebration of his life is encouraged.
