BRENT MARKHAM Obituary

We lost our beloved son and brother unexpectedly on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Brent graduated from PK Yonge in 2009 with high honors and played soccer with Legacy, GSA and PK Yonge. He enlisted in the Marine Corp where he graduated in the top 3% of his class. He spent 3 1/2 years as a Reservist. He was medically honorably discharged due to a brain injury from a soccer accident. Brent continued on with his college studies where he graduated with Honors from U.F., with a bachelor's degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. After graduation, he began to take over the daily operations of the family business at Markham's Lawn. He had so many skills and untapped potential that we will never be able to see. Your physical presence will be greatly missed, but your spirit and influence will last forever.
Brent is survived by his parents, Todd and Mary Markham; two awesome brothers, Mike and Cameron Markham; grandparents, Bill and Dot Markham and numerous other family members.
The family will have a Celebration of Life for Brent on Saturday, May 7, 2016 starting at 3:30 p.m., at their lake home at 1512 SE 5th Avenue, Melrose, FL 32666. Please visit his memorial page at

I am so sorry Todd and Mary for your loss. I never meant your son Todd, but it sounds like he was a great man just as you. I want you to know Todd, you were like a little brother to me and still are even though we have drifted apart over many years.

This hurts despite not having talked to him in a couple of years. You guys had all kinds of renovations to your house going on all of the time. Its probably still the coolest pool in the neighborhood. We played soccer for years together. I used to play airsoft around the neighborhood with him, Kyle your neighbor who went to school with us, and sometimes both of their little brothers. I'll never forget the day he came into Haile Plantation Publix right after basic, and stopped to catch up and talk about soccer. Specifically about him being one of the fastest on the team, and also one of the only guys to even score for us. Hell of a guy. My condolences...

Mary we were just so shocked and sorry to hear about Brent. Words just seem so inadequate to convey our deep sympathy. I cannot imagine your grief. Markham family -
Brent and I had not crossed paths in many years but he and I were good friend through most of elementary and middle school. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing from one of my sisters, who he took a few classes with at UF. I will always remember those days spent building Legos or playing Capture the Flag across the neighborhood. There are no words that I can say that are enough, but you all are in my thoughts right now.
