SAVAGE SR., BRUCE

Bruce Hamilton Savage, Sr., Age 73, passed away at home in Archer, Florida, near Gainesville, August 24, 2011.

Born in Kansas City, MO, he moved to Florida as a child and spent his formative years in St. Petersburg. After attending Denison University and the LSU School of Banking, Bruce spent 25 years in banking in Tampa, retiring as Sr. Vice President of Corporate Banking for Barnett Bank.

Husband of twelve years to his loving wife Sally Bleakley Savage, he is survived by his three children, Steven Savage, Bruce Savage, Jr. (B.J.) and Jill Savage Cusmano; stepdaughter, Sarah Montgomery-Foglia; brother, Neil W. Savage; niece, Kimberly Savage Moench and nephews, Morgan and John Savage; and three grandchildren, Cole and Cade Cusmano, and Brady Savage. His parents, Morgan and Jane Savage predeceased Bruce

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 1:00p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Tampa.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cancer Society, the University of Florida Athlete Association, Haven Hospice of Gainesville or St. John Episcopal Church of Tampa.

I will greatly miss Mr. Savage. He was always a joy to help when he came into Gainesville Opticians. He could get me laughing as soon as he walked in the door with a witty comment or joke. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Our deepest condolences to Sally and Bruce's family. Bruce was a fine man and I enjoyed working with him very much at Barnett Bank. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
