CECIL BLYE Obituary
Age 82, Son of the late Richard & Janie Blye, Husband of the late Alice Blye , Retired Attorney, Civil Services Employee, Managing Editor of the Louisville Defender Newspaper, US Army Lieutenant/Korean Conflict, Graduate of University of Louisville, Clarke College & 1945 Graduate of Lincoln High School passed Monday, April 12, 2010, at his residence (in Louisville, Kentucky).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 11:00-1:00PM - And Funeral Services will immediately follow (on Saturday) at 1:00PM, at the Fifth Street Baptist Church (Louisville, Kentucky).
Attorney Blye is immediately survived by: Daughter - Attorney Cecilia Blye of Upper Marlboro, MD; Sons - Reverend/Attorney Cecil Blye, Jr. of Louisville, KY and Steven Blye of Sherman Oaks, CA; Sisters - Verdelle Jones and Dorothy Jackson of Gainesville, FL. 1 Granddaughter - England Blye of Louisville, KY; Special Nieces - Delores Faulk of Jacksonville, FL and Arvetta Jackson-Hill of Gainesville, FL; Nieces & Nephews; Cousins, In-Laws & Friends.
Services are under the direction of A.D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home of Louisville, Kentucky.
Local Expressions may be directed to DUNCAN BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME, 428 NW 8th Street, Gainesville, FL.

To the Blye Family,
My you find peace and comfort in knowing that Mr. Blye never met a stranger and was loved and respected by all he encountered. I worked in Probate and he always spoke about how much he loved and missed his wife. I know he is still smiling and reunited with the love of his life.

We knew Mr. Blye as kids growing up in Beecher Terrace in the 60's and 70's. He was a great and positive influence on all of us. We will never forget him.

Dear Blye family, may God comfort and strengthen you during this time. We will miss grandpa Blye. Yet, he will forever be with us in our hearts and memories. Uncle Cecil was an amazingly generous, sweet, down-to-earth, "take-the-shirt-off-his-back" for you type of man! He really listened, really talked to you, really cared!!!
I will miss him as I miss Aunt Alice so much! Looking forward to seeing them on the other side...

Pastors Cecil and Viennese and family, we are so sorry for your lost but we are thankful for your dad's gain. Yes, you feel the lost but keep your focus on the joy he is experiencing; he is in no pain, no sickness and he is not lonely. Can't help but think about days of old at 5th Street..Your parents were more than just friends, but family. I am so grateful to our Lord, for giving me the priviledge to have known them..Pop Blye was not only a mentor, best friend, he was like a father to me... He took care of the Ramsey's and Lockhart's..never missed a call, always tried to help!! When I lost my son, he was there, and he told me to just hold""on to God's hand..
