Charlie O'Neal Obituary

O'NEAL SR., CHARLIE, 62 Gainesville - Charlie O'Neal, Sr. died on October 2, 2006 while asleep at home. He was 62 years old. Mr. O'Neal was born in Lacrosse, FL. He graduated from A.L. Mebane High School in 1963. This life-long Alachua County resident was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of Jerusalem Church of God By Faith, where he actively served in the Men's Ministry and in the Male Chorus. He was precede in death by parents Arthur and Pearly O'Neal, Sr. and siblings. Survivors include Wife of 41 years, Ola Mae O'Neal; 4 children, Charlie O'Neal, Jr., Sheila O'Neal, Evelina "Tina" O'Neal, Roddrick O'Neal and wife, Kereisha O'Neal; 8 grandchildren, Dereck, Lakyria, Neisha, Chantel, Kaylee, Kerryn, Demond and Zae'on O'Neal; 5 siblings, Lillie Mae Wilson, Ida Bell O'Neal, Thelma (Wilbert) Carter, Arthur (Elouise) O'Neal and Burneda (Milton) Robinson; 3 brother in laws, 7 sister in laws, 1 godson and a host of other dearly regarded family members and friends. Funeral Services for Mr. O'Neal will be held 11:00AM, Sunday October 8, 2006 at Jerusalem Church of God By Faith, Gainesville, FL with the Pastor Elder D.E. Gainey presiding and Minister Edwin O'Neal, Sr., Eulogist. Burial will be held in Rhuta Branch Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. O'Neal will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00-9:00PM. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00PM. Mr. O'Neal will lie in state at the church on Sunday October 8, 2006 from 10:00-11:00AM. There will be NO viewing after the Eulogy. The cortege will assemble at Elouise and Arthur, Jr home at 10:15AM. Services entrusted to the care of PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 727 NW 2nd St., Gainesville, FL, (352) 376-8686. I am sadden to learn of the passing of brother Charlie O'neal. We have known each other before high school. We graduated together in the class of 1963, A. L. Mebane High School, Alachua, Florida.
