Gladys Williamson Obituary

WILLIAMSON, GLADYS B.

Mrs. Gladys Blanche Hersey Williamson, 85, of Keystone Heights, passed away on Thurs. Oct. 15, 2009. Gladys was born in Theressa on July 28, 1924 to the late Martin and Malanar (Adkins) Hersey, Sr. Gladys was a life long resident of Theressa, a member of the Hope Baptist Church, and had worked for the Council on aging. As a licensed Cosmetologist, Gladys had owned and operated Gladys' Beauty Salon in Keystone Heights from 1962 until the present. Her family will always remember her as a loving Christian woman whose greatest prayer was the Salvation of her family and friends. Gladys also cared and loved everyone in her family and community.

Her survivors include her daughter: VonCille Bruce of Theressa; son: L. Glenn Williamson of Keystone Heights; Siblings: R. Martin Hersey, Jr. of Theressa, Beatrice Carolyn Ezell of Yulee and Nettie Louise Tomlinson of Destin. Grandchildren: Shana Jerkins, Shannon Blankenship, Jason Bell, Sara Williamson, Eric Williamson and Ashley Reynolds and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother: Clyde DeWitt Hersey.

Viewing for Gladys will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 from 5-7 in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 at 1 O'clock in the Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Shawn House and Pastor Don Corbit officiating. Burial will follow at the Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions please be made to the Haven Hospice of The Lake, 6400 St. John's Ave., Palatka, FL 32177.
