HARRY GLEN, 67
Newberry - Harry Glen McElroy, 67, of Newberry, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in Gainesville, FL. Glen was born in Gainesville on November 11, 1946 to Herman and Marjorie McElroy. A graduate of Newberry High School, Glen served in the US Army Reserves, worked for All Florida Electric for 37 years, was a Baptist and proud farmer for his entire life.
Glen is survived by his loving wife Barbara McElroy; daughters, Christy (Justin) Jones, Glenda (Justin) Brashear; grandchildren, Aaron Glen, Jordyn, Austin and Jayme; siblings Patsy, Randy (Janie), Larry Earl (Mishel) and Bruce; sisters and brothers in law; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Glen will fondly be remembered as always being there for his family and friends, as well as his life-long love of farming.
A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the Milam Funeral Home of Newberry. Funeral Services will be Friday November 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at Union Baptist Church, 6259 SE 75th Ave., Newberry, FL 32669. Interment will follow at Jonesville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of MILAM FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES 22405 West Newberry Road Newberry, FL 32669 (352) 472-5361.

I am truly sorry miss McElroy for your loss of Glen. Glen was truly a great man that is respected by many many people. I will be praying for you and all your family that God will give you and everyone in your family the strength and comfort that you guys will need during this very difficult time. I have worked in the construction trade for 35 years from one end of this state to the other and some of that time was working with Mac on several large projects. He was truly a Godly man and he made that very clear to all. Matthew 10:32 tells us Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father which is in HEAVEN. MAC was KIND, CARING and always willing to help people, Mac was truly a GREAT legacy to us all and he will be missed by many.
