Ina Prentice of Alachua passed peacefully from this life Friday, November 08, 2013, at her home near Traxler. lna was born in Alachua on May 15, 1915, the daughter of David S. and Vida B. Waters. She was the middle child with a sister, Edna Fugate and younger brother D.S. Waters, Jr. She was the last surviving member of her family. Ina graduated from Alachua High School with honors. It was the depression years so she took a year off from school to work for Copeland Sausage Co. before continuing her education at Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas. While there she met the love of her life, Charles Klingman Prentice. They were married on Nov. 8th 1937 and enjoyed 69 years together when Klingman passed away on Nov. 23, 2006. She died on the day that would have been their 76th anniversary. There has never been a more loving dedicated wife, mother and friend. She was an example and inspiration to all who knew her.

Klingman and Ina had six children, two of whom preceded Ina in death. Sylvia Claire King, August 10, 2013 and Barron Allen Prentice, March 24, 1993. Surviving children are Ronald L. Prentice of Miami, FL, Karen J. Underwood, Paul R. and Clyde S. Prentice all of Alachua. They were blessed with 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter living in Alaska, Idaho, Arizona, New York and Florida.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 16, at 11 am at Santa Fe Hills church of Christ located on US 441 North in Alachua, FL. Please join the family in celebrating the life of a 'Worthy Woman'.
