JAMES KNAGGS Obituary

KNAGGS, JAMES F.

James Franklin Knaggs, age 79, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on August 7, 2011. He was born on June 21, 1932 in Freeport, Illinois to Nelson Stewart and Esther Aneshansel Knaggs.

Mr. Knaggs grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta and the Black Friars Club at Depauw University and was also in the ROTC there. He was a pilot in the US Air Force. Mr. Knaggs worked with National Standard Company in Niles, Michigan for over 30 years, then after moving to Gainesville he opened Knaggs Medical Specialties. He enjoyed boating and Gator Football.

He is preceded by brothers, Nelson "Ted" S. Knaggs, David R. Knaggs. Mr. Knaggs is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen D. Knaggs, Gainesville; daughter, Julia K. and son-in-law Marty Marshall, Gainesville; son, James M. Knaggs, Gainesville; grandchildren, Kimberly, Melissa, Kelly, Sara and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Ava and Justin.

Arrangements are under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd St. The family requests those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Alzheimer's Association, Central & North Florida Chapter, 378 Center Pointe Circle, Ste. 1280, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
