GAUTIER, JEFFERSON DAVIS JR.

Bell - Jefferson Davis Gautier Jr., 72, of Bell, FL, formerly of Miami and the Keys, passed away July 6 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born March 2, 1935 in San Antonio, only child of Jefferson Sr. and Elinor in an extended pioneer family. He earned an AA degree from V. of Florida and a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He earned a BS from U. of Miami and law degree from U. of Miami Law School with Distinction, then was selected to Naval Officer's Candidate School, assigned to intelligence, later serving in the reserves. He was a distinguished lawyer. State Representative (1966-1974), 32nd Degree Mason, Eagle Scout, avid reader, fisherman and sailor. He was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Chiefland.

Survived by wife Elizabeth (Bette), children Jefferson Gautier III of Tavernier, FL, Katherine & husband Jim Breedlove of Franklin, NC, Carolyn & husband Nick Chapman of Franklin, NC and Ariel Gautier of Gainesville, FL. 5 Grandchildren, Jared & Annie Breedlove, Colin Chapman, Tyler & Lexi Gautier. 3 step children, Nick Sprague & wife Jean of Bishop, CA, Jenna Delattibodier of Gainesville, FL and Sam Sprague of Gainesville, FL. 4 step grandchildren Kevin & Colin Sprague, Parker & Maya Delattibodier, and numerous cousins who will all

miss his loving generous sprit and passion for life.

A Celebration of Life Will be held July 21,7:00pm at The Caribbean Club in Key Largo, FL. Memorials to Haven Hospice www.havenhospice.org or Reef Relief www.reefrefief.org.

Jeff and I were members of Troop 23 Boy Scouts of America (South Miami)in the late 1940's. I also knew Jeff when he was a legislator and state attorney. A good guy!!
