Josie Jones Obituary
Josie Christine Goode "Granny" Jones of Newberry died on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at her home suddenly. She was 82 years old. She was born and raised in Alachua County, and lived most of her life in Newberry. She worked for MK Flowers, Florida Pest Control in the garden center, and Westwood Middle School cafeteria. She loved to go to Singles' Club, playing cards, fishing, traveling, and especially loved her family. She is survived by sons; Charles Jones and Alfred Jones, both of Newberry, Jeff Jones of Trenton, Winston Jones of Bronson, and Bruce Jones of Gainesville, brothers; Bobby Goode of Trenton, Bailey Goode of Crystal River, and Dan Goode of Lake City, sisters; Jean Smith, Betty Parker, Louise Hunt, and Mary Carlisle, all of Newberry, Ann Suggs of Alachua, Doretta Jones of Ocala, and Faye Davis of Jacksonville; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Jones, daughter Janet Lynn Jones, brothers Cecil and Dalton Goode, and sisters Della Rooks and Mina Bush.
The family will receive friends at the MILAM FUNERAL HOME OF NEWBERRY Friday evening from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville on Saturday November 10th at 2:00 P.M.
Arrangements are under the care of MILAM FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 22405 W. Newberry RD, Newberry, FL 32669, 352-472-5361.

I loved AUNT JO very much. I have such fond memories of her as I was growing up. When she would come visit my grandmother is was always special and fun. My prayers are with ALL. I will miss her

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. We loved Aunt Jo and will miss her. We regret not being with all the family to say good bye to my last living Aunt. She was a wonderful, kind lady who raised 5 wonderful boys.
