When my husband and I first moved to Gainesville, we became neighbors of Mary and Mickey Milam. Mary always had a way of making you feel welcomed. Her smile and laugh showed her kind heartedness and her friendly spirit. She has touched so many lives and we are so very grateful to have known her and her wonderful family.

Dear Family, Today Nov. Fri. 19th, is the first time I am hearing about your incrediable loss. What a wonderful woman- as you all know we had not spent much time together, but the times we had were very much rememberable. What a heart this woman has, I was so blessed by God to have met her in this life, what another incredible person to spend eternity with. I know how the family must be feeling and my prayers go out to you for strength and encouragement to continue her incredible legacy through you all. I have never been around a family, a mother, a father, two daughters, and their children, that set such a high standand of what love really is in a family-- your family loves and is loved. We love you all, I would like to tell Taylor, you are as your grandmother, someone, somebody will never forget, I think of you often and wonder how your doing, I miss you and love you, Thank you Taylor for being just who you are, which is authentic and very genuine. I want you to know If I can be the GG to Riley , that your grandmother was to you, I know I will have an incrediable relationship with her, because I know how much you loved your grandmother and she loved you.You two have been my role models-- Thank you both for showing me love. God Bless You All, JUST REMEMBER THIS, THAT YOUR WIFE, MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER MAY NOT PHYISCALLY BE HER, BUT SHE HAS NEVER LEFT, SHE IS WITH YOU ALL IN HEARTS AND IN YOU MINDS, I PRAY YOU ALL HAVE SOME COMFORT IN THAT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. God Bless You All

Milam Family:
I have known and worked with Mickey and Ashley for many, many years. Although I never got to know Mary K., the love she had for her family was evident in the way Mickey and Ashley spoke of her. You are all in my thoughts and I was so glad that I could give Mickey a big hug. Love you all.

Those sparkling eyes so filled with enthusiasm and joy, that smile that reached out to all of us and shown through her voice and never left her beautiful face for long: this is the Mary Kathryn that will always remain in our hearts. She has been a loving and faithful friend to countless people, near and far, and I feel very fortunate indeed to have been a best friend in our youth. There are wonderful memories of our growing up together, all of the laughter and confidences, sharing each step of that steep learning curve that one must navigate as adolescents and as teenagers. We shared a deep passion for dogs (we bought our first poodles together) and "What-A-Burgers" (we used to sneak off campus at P.K.Young at lunchtime just as often as we possibly could) and we loved to dance and learned to jitterbug and 'bop' together. We were always at her house or mine, and my family adored her. When we played with our dolls, we shared the same certainty that our children, our family, would be our work and our fulfilment in life. At this Mary Kathryn has certainly excelled beyond measure. Mickey, Ashley, Katy, Taylor, Jimmy, Lauren, and Tiffany, you have been very, very blessed
God gave Mary Kathryn that enormous, warm, generous heart that won us all over and made us love her and treasure her, just as we always will. I shall be with you in my prayers tomorrow and wish so much that I could be there with you to honor her.
My deepest sympathy and love to all of you.

Mickey, Ashley, Katy, Taylor, and Lauren...
Your family is in our hearts, always! Aunt Mary Kathryn was one of a kind. We could visit with her for hours and never be bored. She always had fun and entertaining stories.
Lauren and Taylor were the world to her and there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. She was so proud of the girls, her angels!
We had so many special moments at the river, she was our pool buddy. We spent so many hours there chit-chatting and baking under the sun.
We loved her very much and we have many fond memories of her. We are priviledged that she was part of our life.
Thank you for always making us feel like we are part of the family. We love you all and would like you to know that we are here for you for anything you need-now and in the future.
God Bless you all.
All our love,

Ashley and family,
Sorry to hear about your loss.Someone once told my family a poem that I hope is true.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there I do not sleep
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn's rain
When you awaken it the mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there,I did not die

To my Mama MK, Siters KT and Ash, Mr Mikey, TO and Lala and the rest of the Milam family,
Mama MK was a very special lady and over the past couple years has become like a mother to me.I will never forget her spunkiness, honesty and love that she has shared with me over the years. She was the best friend that my Daddy (Jerry Foster) couldve ever asked for. I will never forget them visits at NFRMC when they would miss each other on the elevators going to visit each other on different floors. They kept each other laughing through some of the most difficult times of our lives. To Papa Mikey,Ash, KT, TO, Lala ...I love you so so much and mourn the loss of Mama MK together. May God provide the family with peace and comfort that WE will see her again. May we remember the wonderful memories volleyball games 2010 and all the laughs we shared! Here is a little poem as we celebrate her life here with us and her eternal life with our Lord! We love you!!! Chop, Wendy, Mad, Tata, Evan and Gavin AND Jerry, Effie Foster

If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why

Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know

But now we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store

Since you’ll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within our hearts
Is where you’ll always stay

Mickey, Ashley, Katy and Girls,

A Letter From Heaven

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven.
Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness;
here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you
when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me
and said, "I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family,
they'll be here later on.
There's so much that we have to do,
to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things,
that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list,
was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night,
the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you...
in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years.
Because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry:
it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers,
unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I was to tell you , you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, through my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and in pain;
Then you can say to God at night....
"my day was not in vain."

And now I am contented....
that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody
who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street
and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go....
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...
your coming here to me.
