Dr. Hess was my dentist in Gainesville in the early 1980s. To this day (2024) I carry a little of him around in the work he did on me. He was extremely skilled and did a variety of procedures that I would need to see a carload of specialists to have done today. He was always friendly and I always felt comfortable in his chair. I'm sure he is sadly missed.

I was very saddened to hear of Dr. Hess's passing. I would like to extend my condolences, thoughts, hugs and prayers to his family. He was the best dentist I ever had! He had such a cheerful way about him. He set such a positive example with his "bedside manner" as a dentist that while I was in nursing school I remembered wanting to be like him with my patients. Such a loss, what a wonderful person. Blessings

Dr Hess was one of a kind as a professional dentist and a friend. My deceased husband and I went to him from his early career in 1972 until his retirement. I am so sorry about his home going. My sympathies to all his family and especially Allison that we came to know also. Billie Mashburn

Dr. Hess was my dentist throughout his entire career and was the best dentist ever. I missed him when he retired. He was so happy go lucky and sang while he worked and was just the best person ever. I also enjoyed his daughter Alison very much at the front desk. I will always miss him. He treated my entire family.

Dr. Hess was my dentist from my first dental visit to early adulthood. I was never afraid to visit him. He always had a smile on his face and a joke or, when I was little, a tickle . I will always remember him fondly.

We went to DR Hess from 1979 until his retirement. He was always happy, and passed that happiness on. He was a great dentist, the best I ever had.

So sorry for your loss for such a caring man. he was the only dentist I went to from from 1976 until he retired. Then when I found out he was there on Tuesday for a while I schedule my appointments for those days only. He truly cared for his patients. May God give you comfort. Davina Reid Brown

Dr. Hess was a one in a million dentist! We began with him soon after he opened his practice. As well as getting to know him his precious wife ran office, then alone came the 3 beautiful girls, kept up with them during dental visits. What a loss the dental world is experiencing, RIP
