I was so very sorry to hear of your dad´s passing. While I know that there are no words that I could possibly offer to assuage your sadness at losing a parent (husband, grandparent) I wanted to let you know how blessed I was to have known him. I have such amazing memories of your father dating back to the summer of 1988 when I had the chance to work with him at Carter and Associates. I was so lost as a high school student interning at his company, and I knew nobody at the firm. Most days I would eat my PB&J sandwich from a paper bag out on a bench on Peachtree Street in front of the office, and your father took it upon himself to seek me out and take me to my first `business lunch.´ I will never forget how he made me feel more important than I was and like I wasn´t just the intern who was in everyone´s way. Later in high school, he continued to be nothing but gracious to me all the times I was over at your house or at the lake. I remember the round of Cayman golf he, Kevin and I played and how when he would out-drive Kevin off the tee, he would tease Kevin the rest of the hole. (Kevin would LOVE that!) He was an exceptionally kind (albeit sometimes silly) man, who always made me feel welcome and like a part of your family. I will always be grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing him. The world is a lesser place without him in it.
Thinking of you and your family

This picture brings back good memories of the fishing trips to Canada with our sons Kevin G and Kevin D.
Brian was a true gentleman in the best sense of the word. I think his most lasting legacy will be that he passed that attribute on to his son and our common grandsons.

There is no word in the English language, at least that I know of that describes the relationship between people who share grandchildren. Brian and Peggy and Fred and I share three beautiful grandchildren, Caroline, Harrison and Jonathan. I think that relationship deserves a special label so I came up with one of my own. Brian is my grand brother and Peggy my grand sister. I will truly miss my loving and wonderful grand brother.

I, as with many others, will truly miss Brian. We met our first day at Navy officer candidate school and then served in the same Seabee battalion for the next few years. We shared a number of experiences in the Navy and he was a great friend ever since. He was well respected by officers and chiefs and especially by the enlisted men reporting to him. One of his former Navy drafters reiterated that point to me just a few months ago. The attached photos are of Brian as the relatively new Battalion Engineering Officer in Vietnam. May you have fair winds and following seas on your next journey my friend.

My sincere condolences to Brian's wife and family.
I retained Brian to head the Fulton County Building Authority, one of the smartest decisions I ever made. A true professional and proud to have served with him.
