I was told by my mother, Shirley Goodstein, that she used to sit out in the sitting area at the Linden Hill coop apartments in the 1950s with Mrs. Ramone. She sat with Stephen is his baby carriage, and my Mom sat with me. This was before Parsons Boulevard was completed and the Food Fair (later Pantry Pride) shopping center was built in 1963. Stephen and I grew up together. We attended PS 79 (later PS 21), Bleecker JHS 185, Flushing High School, and Queens College. Stephen Ragone was brilliant. The fact he never went on to medical school was tragic.

Dr. Ragone, was the best-dentist-talented-witty, we loved talking about history. He was a blessing in our lives and we will remember for ever.

Marion Sandritti Ragone, Stephen and Michael's mother, grew up in the Bronx with our mother, Christine Djerak. When Mario married Mike Ragone, we always called them "aunt" and "uncle" because they were family. Stephen and Michael were always the smartest in their classes and I admired their strong bond, especially after Aunt Marion passed from cancer. Our family is heartbroken that Stephen and his brother died so young of such debilitating diseases. I met Stephen's daughter Demaris when she was just a little girl; 2 years old I think. What a beautiful, precious child. It was the last time I saw Michael and Stephen. Should Patsy Ragone ever read this, tell her we have photographs with Marion and Michael when he was a new born. Our hearts and tears go out to eh extended Ragone family. We share your grief. Bless you, friends.

I am very sad to hear of the passing of one of the best dentist and friend I could have known. He was so good to me and never scolded me about not doing enough of this or that. He was always encouraging and a delight to see when others hated the dentist visit. I truly will miss him and my heart breaks tonight one night shy of knowing about this and I missed the chance to say good bye. RIP Dr. Ragone.

Dr. Ragone was my dentist for 35 years. I first saw him when I was nine. I heard about his passing on Saturday and I still can not believe it. He was a great dentist and will be missed.

Steve has been my dentist for well over 30 years. i can't say enough about his tremendous care and conscientious staff. He was the fairest, friendliest and most courteous and caring doctor I have ever had.. To say he will be greatly missed is an understatement of the greatest amount. He did his very best to take care of his patients as well as later on, those of his brother Mike who shared the practice with him. May God comfort his girls and his family. I knew him long before he had a family of his own and always remembered and asked about mine by name as well as my best friend who was also a patient of his. May God hold him in the palm of his hand and I will see him again when the time is right.
