Patrick Neal McClellan

1965 - 2023

Patrick Neal McClellan, age 58, of Jonesboro, GA passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 15 in Jonesboro.

Pat was born February 28, 1965 to Nathan James and Vivian Eileen (Butler) McClellan.

Pat served in the US Army from 1985 until 1996 serving as a Sgt. with the Military Police. After his discharge he was employed by Clayton County Sheriff's Department from 1997 to 2011. In 2011 he became a K-9 Handler in Iraq for 6 years working with bomb dogs. In 2017 he joined the Lovejoy Police Department serving as Lieutenant until his death.

Pat loved Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior, his family, his country and his community which was affirmed by the outpour of love shown at his funeral in Georgia.

Pat was an avid Penn State fan, hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother of West Decatur, siblings Nathan McClellan Jr. of Clearfield, Rebecca (Kelly) Shaffer of Annsonville, Meg (Rich) Passmore of Clearfield, Laura (Ron) Queen of Curwensville, Frances (Chris) Pollack of Warriors Mark; his ex wife Susan of Jonesboro, GA; children Patrick (Sadie) McClellan of Atlanta, GA, Jessica (Jimmy) Caporal of Jasper, GA, Melissa Stansell of Kennesaw, GA; grandchildren Liam, Tyler, Emily, Gabrielle, Carmen, James and Henry; nephews Nathan, Ryan, Nolan, Richard and Noah; and nieces Lindsay, Ashley, Bethany, Kristen, Rachel, Amanda and Gretchen.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, November 25th at the Hyde Wesleyan Church from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. because he would be upset if we interrupted anyone's hunting opportunity.
